Worship at St. Mark
Our style of worship is a traditional liturgical format using resources from the new Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal, and other sources.
The 9:30 a.m. worship service provides a user friendly worship bulletin which is also available in large print.
Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday. St. Mark welcomes the baptized community of faith to share in the communion meal.
Children are welcome to commune at whatever age the family feels the child is ready. Classes are offered for children who will be receiving communion for the first time. Grape juice is available for those who prefer not to receive wine.
At St. Mark we also offer a weekday service. We worship together every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel. Holy Communion is frequently celebrated at mid-week services. This service is intimate, warm and welcoming.
Youth Ministry
We have a 2-year Confirmation program for youth in 8th and 9th grades. We use the Luther Course from Augsburg Fortress. It is a fun and informative curriculum that teaches youth about the faith tradition to which they belong and how they can live out faith in their lives.
We have an active youth group for youth in Junior High and above. The youth group has regular fun activities, service projects, etc. We take a trip to the ELCA National Youth Gathering every three years. Check out our pictures in the Photo Gallery section!
St. Mark Music Ministry
St. Mark has a strong musical tradition that enhances our worship and praise.
The members of the St. Mark Choir sing four-part literature from both the traditional classics as well as from the modern day. During the school year the choir meets on Tuesday evening at 7:15 p.m.
We are occasionally blessed to have soloists and instrumentalists share their talents at worship.
St. Mark's pipe organ lends assertive leadership to our congregational song while our baby grand piano adds a soulful, peaceful sound during more contemporary settings.
